Notes on Curiosity, Records, and the Case That Matters

Curiosity does most of the early work: noticing what does not fit, asking who else would have the record, testing what would have to be true for the other side’s story to hold. Without that instinct, analysis becomes summary.

Persistence does the rest. Public records, scripts, metadata, chronologies, and second passes are not glamorous, but they are how loose ends become usable answers. Knowing the answer in advance is less important than knowing how to find it.

The discipline is to keep both habits attached to the case. Curiosity without the record is speculation. Persistence without a question is busywork. Together, they are how difficult records turn into strategy.
